Tennessee Duo Wins $1M On Scratch-Off Ticket, Swears Off Bologna

A father and son from Tennessee have struck it rich, winning almost $1 million from a $20 scratch-off ticket. The ticket, part of the $1 million Casino Nights Kentucky Lottery game, was purchased at a gas station in Adairville, Kentucky, on June 8.

The son, Jody, claimed the prize on behalf of his father, who bought the ticket. Jody’s father scratched the ticket immediately at the Adairville Market, which is around 12 miles from their home in Springfield, Tennessee.

Overjoyed with the win, Jody’s father humorously declared he would no longer eat bologna. The winning combination appeared early in the scratching process, leaving them both in disbelief.

Jody’s father quickly informed him of the win, and they planned their trip to the Kentucky Lottery Headquarters in Louisville to claim their prize. The pair opted for a lump sum payment of $700,000, which amounted to $504,000 after taxes.

Despite the exciting win, Jody’s father remained grounded, continuing with his daily chores, including mowing the lawn, while waiting to cash in the ticket.

With their winnings, the father and son plan to pay off their debts and invest the remaining amount. Their immediate goals include paying off houses and cars to become debt-free. The gas station that sold the winning ticket will also receive a $7,000 bonus.
