Woman Arrested For Alleged Attempt To Steal Elvis Presley’s Graceland In Fraud Scheme

Federal prosecutors have charged Lisa Jeanine Findley from Missouri with mail fraud and identity theft for allegedly trying to take over Graceland, the iconic home of Elvis Presley. According to authorities, Findley falsely claimed that Lisa Marie Presley used Graceland as collateral for a $3.8 million loan she supposedly failed to repay before her death. The scheme was thwarted just before Graceland was set to be auctioned off when a judge intervened.

The fraudulent claim originated from Naussany Investments and Private Lending, which claimed Lisa Marie had secured the loan with Graceland. However, Riley Keough, Lisa Marie’s daughter, contested the loan documents in court, revealing that they were fake. The Department of Justice confirmed Findley’s arrest on Friday.

An official linked to the Elvis estate voiced suspicions that more players might be involved in the scam, noting, “We do not believe this is the mastermind behind the scam.” The FBI has launched a criminal investigation into the matter.

Findley is due in federal court and could face up to 20 years in prison for the mail fraud charge and at least 2 years for identity theft if convicted.
