USAID Sign Removed As Funding Freeze Exposes Leftist Spending

The headquarters of the United States Agency for International Development has had its name taken down as part of the Trump administration’s effort to dismantle the agency. The decision follows an audit that revealed billions in taxpayer dollars being used to fund media control, political activism, and radical ideological projects abroad.

Ukraine’s media relied heavily on USAID funding, with nine out of ten news outlets receiving financial support from international donors, particularly USAID. With the agency’s budget now frozen, these outlets are left searching for alternative funding, raising concerns about who will now shape Ukraine’s media landscape.

Records also show USAID was deeply involved in global activism. The agency allocated money for LGBT lobbying in Serbia and funded a transgender opera in Colombia. Other grants were given for a Sesame Street program in Iraq, gender ideology training for journalists in Sri Lanka, and a transgender comic book in Peru.

Black Lives Matter also benefited from USAID funding. A Soros-linked nonprofit, Tides Center, received $24.7 million, with over $12.6 million later funneled to BLM-related organizations. This financial support was given during the 2020 protests, which caused billions in damage across major U.S. cities.

USAID’s involvement in foreign elections has drawn scrutiny. A German lawmaker in the European Parliament has called for an investigation into whether the agency attempted to influence political outcomes across multiple EU countries. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has also promised to reveal all U.S. funding that was sent to activist organizations in his country.

The agency’s role in President Donald Trump’s first impeachment has also been questioned. Reports indicate that a CIA whistleblower cited sources funded by USAID and the State Department in a complaint that led to the impeachment inquiry.

With the agency’s name now removed from its headquarters, USAID’s influence appears to be unraveling as the Trump administration moves forward with its plan to shut it down.
