President Donald Trump has once again demonstrated the effectiveness of his leadership, compelling Mexico and Canada to take immediate action against the unchecked flow of drugs and illegal migrants flooding into the United States. Both nations initially resisted, but after facing Trump’s decisive tariff threats, they quickly agreed to the sweeping security measures he demanded.
BREAKING: After begging President Trump on the phone, Justin Trudeau will now deploy 10,000 Canadian troops to protect America's border, and Canada will also now have a "Fentanyl Czar."
Like Mexico, the tariffs will be postponed for a month.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum was the first to back down, agreeing to deploy 10,000 troops to the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump confirmed the decision, stating that these soldiers would be tasked with stopping the movement of fentanyl and illegal migrants into the country. With this agreement in place, the White House announced a 30-day pause on new tariffs to allow for continued negotiations.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau followed suit shortly after, rolling out a $1.3 billion border security initiative. The plan includes the deployment of nearly 10,000 additional personnel, aerial surveillance upgrades, and new coordination efforts with the U.S. government. Trudeau also committed to appointing a Fentanyl Czar, designating cartels as terrorist organizations, and increasing intelligence operations targeting organized crime networks.
.@JDVance mocks the left for being 100% wrong on President Trump’s tariffs after Sheinbaum orders 10,000 Mexican troops to the border to stop the flow of fentanyl into America:

Trump celebrated the victories, declaring that these agreements mark a turning point in the fight against the fentanyl epidemic that has devastated communities across the United States. “Canada has agreed to ensure we have a secure Northern Border, and to finally end the deadly scourge of drugs like Fentanyl that have been pouring into our Country,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

The pressure from Trump’s administration has already led to major law enforcement actions. Mexican authorities arrested Ricardo González Sauceda, known as El Ricky, a high-ranking member of the Cartel del Noreste. His capture, coordinated by the Mexican military and law enforcement agencies, sparked violent clashes in Nuevo Laredo as cartel forces retaliated.
Claudia Sheinbaum has bent the knee and agreed to secure her side of the border starting with 10,000 troops in hopes she can avoid Trump's tariffs. #ArtOfTheDeal pic.twitter.com/7aA8JLBc6k

With both Mexico and Canada now committing military resources to their borders, Trump’s tough trade policies have forced action that previous administrations failed to achieve. The coming weeks will determine if these measures remain in place, as the threat of renewed tariffs still looms over both nations.
I do love that Mexico and Canada were both giving the whole “we stand united!” schtick a go right up until Sheinbaum took the first available off-ramp and left Trudeau and Canada holding the bag pic.twitter.com/hkPxNAKIW8

Doug Ford and Justin Trudeau have just delivered the most embarrassing, self-inflicted humiliation in modern Canadian politics. They blustered, they grandstanded, and they postured like tough guys ready to “win” a fight with the United States, only to fold like cheap lawn chairs… pic.twitter.com/eY9pE0fbmb
