Trump Shelters 275 Linemen At His Resort As Florida Prepares For Hurricane Milton

Ahead of the anticipated landfall of Hurricane Milton, President Donald Trump extended a generous offer to 275 Florida Power & Light linemen, inviting them to stay at his Miami golf resort as they prepare for the recovery efforts. Eric Trump shared the news on social media, expressing gratitude for the workers’ dedication and urging them to stay safe during the storm. “You are amazing and the Trump Family, and the entire state of Florida, appreciates you!” he wrote.

Hurricane Milton, now downgraded to a Category 3 storm, is expected to bring severe flooding and damage to Florida’s Gulf Coast. Over 6 million Florida residents are under mandatory evacuation orders, and Gov. Ron DeSantis has announced that more than 50,000 linemen are standing by, ready to assist once the storm passes.

The linemen staying at Trump’s Doral resort, which has luxury accommodations, are part of the state’s largest-ever preparation for a hurricane response. This gesture comes as Trump continues to show support for disaster relief efforts, including launching a GoFundMe campaign that has raised over $7 million for victims of Hurricane Helene, which devastated parts of the Southeast last week.

While Trump focuses on assisting with hurricane recovery, political friction has emerged between Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. DeSantis. Harris criticized DeSantis for allegedly refusing her calls, accusing him of playing politics during the crisis. However, both DeSantis and President Joe Biden refuted her claims, with Biden commending the governor for his leadership during the storm response. DeSantis responded by questioning Harris’ sudden involvement, stating, “She has never shown any interest in the past,” and dismissing her accusations as politically motivated.
