Trump Orders Release Of Classified JFK, RFK, MLK Assassination Records

President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to declassify all remaining government files related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This action comes after years of demands for greater transparency and fulfills one of Trump’s key campaign pledges.

At the White House signing ceremony, Trump described the move as “long overdue” and stated that Americans have waited decades for access to these documents. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services, was present and received the pen used to sign the order.

The National Archives has previously released most records connected to JFK’s assassination, with reports indicating that nearly 97% of the files were already public. However, a portion remained under government control, fueling speculation and public distrust regarding the official narrative.

During his first administration, Trump had planned to release all documents but delayed their publication at the request of intelligence agencies. Officials claimed that national security interests outweighed the public’s right to know, prompting Trump to withhold several key records.

The executive order also accelerates the release of materials related to Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination, which were initially scheduled for public disclosure in 2027. The King family expressed interest in reviewing the documents before their release to the public.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) praised Trump’s action, saying the American people deserve full transparency regarding these historic events. She emphasized the importance of accountability and the need for continued efforts to uncover the truth.
