A group of 20 illegal aliens attempted to board a California school bus on Wednesday, raising significant concerns about the safety of students in the Jamul-Dulzura Union School District. The incident is the second of its kind within the same week, escalating fears among parents and school officials.
The first incident occurred on Tuesday when three men tried to stop a school bus on Highway 94. The bus driver had to navigate around the men to avoid an encounter. The very next day, a group of 20 individuals attempted to board another school bus as it was picking up students. Fortunately, parents at the bus stop intervened, preventing the illegal aliens from boarding the bus.
Superintendent Liz Bystedt addressed the situation in a letter to parents, announcing new safety measures. To ensure the safety of students and drivers, buses will now skip stops where migrants are present and proceed to the next scheduled stop. Bystedt advised parents to stay vigilant and to follow the bus to the next stop if it bypasses their location.
One parent, Nicole Cardinale, expressed her fear after learning about the incident from her 8-year-old son, who was on the bus. Her son described the situation, saying that the adults attempting to board were carrying backpacks and were clearly not children.
The San Diego Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation to determine if any criminal activity took place during the incident. Kimberly King, speaking on behalf of the Sheriff’s Department, assured the community that student safety is being taken very seriously and that they are collaborating with the school district to protect the students.
This alarming incident has heightened concerns about the security of school transportation in areas near the border, where such encounters are becoming increasingly frequent.
