Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), previously the White House physician for Barack Obama and Donald Trump, shared that his nephew was injured during the assassination attempt on Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Jackson’s nephew suffered a graze wound on his neck from the shooter’s bullet.
Jackson described the harrowing event: “My nephew heard shots and felt blood on his neck. He was treated in the medical tent. Please join my family in praying for all who were injured and the life lost.”
Jackson elaborated in an interview with Sean Hannity, saying, “They heard the shots, and everyone dropped to the ground. My nephew was grazed in the neck and was bleeding. My sister-in-law urged him to go to the first aid tent.”
The shooter, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was positioned on a rooftop about 200-300 feet from the rally. Crooks fired multiple shots, one of which grazed Trump’s ear, narrowly missing a more serious injury. Jackson remarked, “That is as close as it gets to dying. If Trump had turned his head, the bullet would have crossed his brain.”
Despite the attack, Trump plans to attend the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. The FBI is leading the investigation and has requested public assistance in gathering information. Jackson expressed confidence in Trump’s Secret Service detail but questioned the leadership’s effectiveness.
Trump’s resilience and determination to continue with his campaign activities have been highlighted by supporters, emphasizing the need for enhanced security measures for future events.
