Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign is facing criticism for refusing to elaborate on her plan to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens residing in the U.S. While Harris has consistently promised to offer a pathway to citizenship for most of the approximately 22 million illegal immigrants, her campaign has declined to provide specific details on how this would be implemented.
During her speech at the Democrat National Convention, Harris emphasized the importance of providing illegal aliens with “an earned pathway to citizenship.” However, when asked by Axios if she would take executive action to implement these changes, her campaign spokesperson refused to answer, only highlighting her record of supporting “Dreamers.”
Harris’ previous presidential platform from 2019 outlined a plan to protect over 6 million illegal aliens from deportation and offer pathways to citizenship for 2.1 million “Dreamers.” Yet, the lack of recent specifics has left many voters questioning the feasibility and impact of her amnesty proposal.
With immigration concerns mounting, a recent poll by The New York Times and Siena College found that a majority of likely voters blame Harris for the surge in illegal immigration since she was appointed to address the southern border crisis in 2021.
