House GOP Investigates CIA Blockade Of Hunter Biden Probe

House Republicans insist on an explanation from the CIA after a courageous whistleblower revealed allegations that the spy agency ran interference against lawmakers’ investigation into first son Hunter Biden.

The witness reported that in Aug. 2021 as IRS investigators prepared to interview Biden associate Patrick Kevin Morris, the CIA stepped in and shut down the interrogation. Representatives said this confirmed previous evidence of CIA involvement in stifling the probe.

The Republican chairmen of the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees sent a letter Thursday to CIA Director William Burns. They sought records concerning allegations that President Biden’s Department of Justice stepped in to defend Hunter.

The investigation uncovered that two DOJ officials were summoned to Langley for a meeting at CIA headquarters with Morris.

They were subsequently told that there would not be an interview.

Burns was given until April 4 to respond to the House inquiry. The investigation began in December over concerns with the CIA’s actions involving the discovery of Hunter Biden’s laptop and the writing attempting to pass it off as Russian disinformation.

Morris’ attorney gave a letter to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH). In the writing, delivered after Morris testified before Congress, he detailed his client’s generosity for the president’s son.

The entertainment lawyer issued $6.5 million in forgivable loans to Hunter Biden since Oct. 2021. These were to pay the first son’s personal expenses along with $2 million that was overdue to the IRS.

In the younger Biden’s federal tax indictment, Morris is listed as a “personal friend. He is credited with paying Hunter’s personal expenses totaling $1.2 million from January to October 2020.

The two were reportedly introduced at a Democratic fundraiser for the elder Biden in 2019. It was just a few months later when Morris loaned Hunter $190,000 to apply to his overdue taxes.

Repayment for the loan is scheduled to begin in 2025.

The new whistleblower allegations over CIA interference parallel testimony from IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler. Both revealed to Congress last year how his father’s DOJ extended preferential treatment to Hunter Biden as he was being investigated.

The DOJ allegedly hampered the probe through slow-walking and blocking stages of the investigation.
