Greene Defends Clash With Democratic Lawmakers, Says She’s ‘Over It’

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) took to the social media platform X to defend her heated exchange with Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) during a House Oversight Committee meeting on Monday. Greene said she was “completely over” the hypocrisy and gamesmanship in Washington D.C.

The clash began when Greene mocked Crockett’s fake eyelashes and made a remark about her intelligence. Ocasio-Cortez responded saying “Oh girl oh baby girl don’t even play” to which Greene replied “Oh really baby girl?”

In her X post, Greene expressed frustration with the “Democrat-controlled DOJ federal government and Congress in general.” She accused Democrats of weaponizing the Department of Justice against former President Donald Trump and ignoring “their own paid criminal rioters.”

Greene also criticized the treatment of Jan. 6 protesters and the national debt claiming that “Congress has enslaved the American people in over $34 TRILLION in debt.”

“Pardon me if I don’t talk as nicely as some people would like to hear,” Greene concluded. “I’m not going to keep you all addicted to outrage and hopium that never solves a problem or stops the inevitable implosion of the United States of America. I’m completely over it.”

The exchange highlighted the growing tensions between Republican and Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill as they grapple with a range of divisive issues from the 2020 election to the national debt.
