Conservatives Warn Of National Consequences If Wisconsin Court Tilts Left

Republican leaders are sounding the alarm as Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race draws closer, telling voters that the outcome could hand power to Democrats far beyond the state’s borders. With early voting underway, conservatives say this is no time to stay home.

Judge Brad Schimel, a Trump-endorsed candidate, is facing off against Judge Susan Crawford in a high-stakes contest that could decide the ideological balance of the state’s highest court. The seat became open with the retirement of liberal Justice Ann Walsh Bradley.

The election is officially nonpartisan, but voters on both sides know exactly what’s at stake. Court rulings on congressional redistricting, abortion laws, gun rights and union powers are all likely in the years ahead. If the left holds the court, Republicans say the conservative agenda could be blocked at every turn.

President Donald Trump’s endorsement of Schimel focused heavily on public safety and the Constitution. Trump warned that Crawford has a record of giving light sentences to violent criminals and cannot be trusted to defend law and order.

National groups have taken notice, pouring millions into the race. More than $11 million from Elon Musk-affiliated organizations has been spent to back Schimel, while leftist donors including Soros and Gov. JB Pritzker are funding Crawford’s side.

Republicans also uncovered an email from top Democrats that revealed their goal: use the court to redraw congressional maps and potentially gain control of the House of Representatives in 2026.

Trump Jr. and Charlie Kirk rallied voters in Waukesha earlier this month, telling attendees that the outcome of this race could determine whether President Trump’s agenda can move forward or not.

The 2023 Supreme Court race in Wisconsin set national records for judicial spending. This year’s contest has already broken those numbers, and both parties are treating it like a national election.
