Congressional Report: CCP Espionage On The Rise Under Biden-Harris

Chinese espionage has intensified during the Biden-Harris administration, according to a report by the House Homeland Security Committee. The report, released Thursday by the Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, documents a significant increase in spying activities linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris assumed office.

Between January 2021 and October 2024, over 55 incidents of CCP-linked espionage were reported across 20 U.S. states. These activities range from military data breaches to the theft of intellectual property and transnational repression of Chinese dissidents. Mark Green (R-TN), Chairman of the committee, said, “Beijing has continually encroached upon American sovereignty.”

Among the incidents highlighted is the case of Ji Chaoqun, a Chinese national sentenced in 2023 for acting as an illegal agent for the CCP, attempting to recruit American scientists and engineers. Additionally, an attempted breach at a U.S. Marine Corps base in California raised further alarms about the growing threat of Chinese espionage.

The report also reveals a concerning trend at the southern border, where over 36,000 Chinese nationals were apprehended in Fiscal Year 2024 — surpassing the total number of apprehensions from 2007 to 2020 combined.

Criticism is mounting against the Biden-Harris administration for its perceived failure to adequately address the growing espionage threat from China. Questions about Kamala Harris’ and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s alleged ties to China have also surfaced as Congress deepens its investigation into the matter.
