The dramatic scene unfolded Friday when Trump took issue with Zelensky’s tone toward Vance during discussions about ending the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Trump ultimately dismissed Zelensky from the meeting, later writing that the Ukrainian leader “disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office.”

Favre, a longtime supporter of Trump, reacted strongly to a video of the exchange. “This was a bit unreal to watch. A foreign leader speaking to a sitting U.S. President like this,” he wrote on X. “Glad Donald Trump and JD Vance are standing up for America.”

The former Green Bay Packers quarterback was not alone in his criticism. Former MLB pitcher John Rocker echoed Favre’s sentiments, commenting that the scene was difficult to believe. Others on social media sided with Trump, accusing Zelensky of being ungrateful for American support.
Following the explosive meeting, Zelensky reportedly moved to a holding area in the West Wing. He and Trump did not meet again before the Ukrainian delegation departed. Trump later stated that Zelensky could return when he was “ready for peace.”
Meanwhile, European leaders have expressed concerns over the breakdown of talks, with many backing Zelensky in the dispute. The fallout has left the future of U.S. involvement in Ukraine uncertain, as Trump signaled he would not support further aid without concessions from Zelensky.
